Not sure I totally agree on Maddison

If we do need to sell him to balance the books then we are not going to say that publicly.

Actually our messaging would be exactly what it is, that we don't need to sell.

I have no issue either way, but the club can't always be transparent to fans.

My hope would be that if we do need to sell him and therefore only give the manager a portion of the fee to use, then the fans don't start accusing the club of misleading them.
