Or, and this is what I'd do, they might cap everyone at some level so that they can increase the numbers of people. I'd do that because this kind of supporter engagement is gold dust for a football club and I'd want to engage just as many supporters as were up for it in precisely this way. I'd also find some enticing alternative offer for the high-rollers who'd offered, say, £25k but I was only going to accept, say, £10k off of.
