Bird Flu-Thoughts

According to a report I read yesterday (W.H.O) the people "most at risk" are those who breathe in the pulverised fragments of the faeces of infected chickens-also, another group who have been established as being at "high risk" are voodoo witch doctors who are exposed to the blood and s**t whenever they slash the necks of birds that are used in religious ceremonies!

A W.H.O spokesman then when on to say IF the disease mutated then there MIGHT be a CHANCE it COULD become transmitted in an airborne manner, although, as it continued to mutate, it would probably become "less harmful" to humans-someone in this country added that, the worse case scenario in the UK was that "50'000 people might die"- I think more than that died of the "normal" flu outbreak a couple of winters back.

On the otherhand, you see the tabloids this morning going on about paramedics having armed gunmen in their ambulances, plus Government and health officials retreating to a secret bunker in Staffordshire if it breaks out here as people "die on the streets" and "callous Government officials get the lifesaving drug ahead of children"!!!

Weren't we all going to die of SARS a few years back-and before then it was Ebola? Ho hum. Plus ce'change, or however you say it....
