Spurs and Liverpool thought they could wait until the summer, but are pushed into bids by the threat of us accepting a bid by West Ham.

Of course it could also mean they will come in at far lower rival bids than they might have just to stop him going to West Ham, knowing that they’ll be able to offer the full amount in the summer and get him anyway. Which would be proper s**t if it unsettled him. He’s not looked comfortable all window really.
