He could have signed a pre-contract deal with NCFC and then NCFC wouldn't have had to pay a transfer fee.

However, by completing the move now, Norwich are paying 200k + higher wages for him to stay at Aberdeen until the summer so the deal prop is costing NCFC about 500K.
