Agree. Farke is a coach not a (club) manager.

His trust in bringing Zimmerman in (arguably from nowhere) testifies his belief in a bigger footballing picture.

There is something very special in coaching that starts with mentoring and trust and grows in time. I haven’t a clue how it works or what it looks like, in reality, in training, but it’s clear to eveyone that some players shine under a head coach, others less so. Some believe they don’t need coaching, that *training* is enough for them. Some self-coach or do what’s expected in training and not much more. Others move to bigger clubs when a deal happens and sit on the bench. Others move and are in touch with their earliest coaches because that earliest link is unbreakable. And, of course, some are just brilliant.

I quite like that we now have a coaching set up. I’m not sure what that looks like because I’m not involved in football. But I am sure that it’s a better thing for us than what we had before.

I don’t know who had the final sign off on bringing Maddison into the club, but I believe the decision will be justified more on his performances for us and his desire to improve and win and the love that we can’t help but thrust at him, than on any sell on fee. And that, I reckon, is about him, his natural flair (of course) and his choice to be coached.

And it’s all happening at Norwich.
