Because it's a massive money spinner for the government?

Gambling is different to tobacco and alcohol for two reasons:

1) The tax burden falls on the bookie rather than the consumer (they pay a marginal rate of something like 85%)

2) Gambling doesn't come with a great big NHS bill

Also, the adverts all say "When the fun stops, stop!"

So that's ok then, isn't it......? [Insert rolly eye face here]
