Yanic
One of my colleagues is a lifelong Wigan fan. Goes almost every week. When we signed Yanic I asked him what he thought. Basically he said his touch isn’t good, he’s not tricky, his final ball isn’t great but he’s big and quick. Mostly he sticks it in row z, but every now and then he’ll score an amazing goal or make a crazy run and set up a goal, so his highlights clips look great. For the fee we offered, he thought we were stupid and wasn’t sad about losing him at all.
Clearly we never spent 7m on him, but he was a poor signing from the beginning. It’s good those responsible for scouting and signing him are no longer here. Big waste of money.
