Oli gets a bit too much criticism in my opinion. He suffers a lot from receiving the ball with no support at all around him and ends up losing the ball whilst trying to hold it long enough for support to arrive, which doesn’t as too many of our attackers stand in space watching from forty yards away.

Also think he puts in a far greater shift than he’s given credit for. His slouching posture between probably adds to the laziness myth.

Pinto can work on his crossing though. Would agree with that. But he’s often in a position like Oli, facing two defenders and everybody else watching and not even attacking the penalty area in anticipation of a cross. Other thing with the wide game is that Oli is our only threat in the air from the attacking players.
