It’s difficult for any number 10 when there are very few options to pass to
Zero width, everything coming back to the centre of the pitch.
Basically, Pritchard and madders in the same team doesn’t work as they want to be in the same bit of pitch as one another all the time.
The only way it could work, is if our full backs attacked more giving us that width and to free up space in the middle, but even then it wouldn’t solve the issue of no players in the box (olive drifts around the final third, doesn’t spend much time there, pritch and maddison spend their time on the edge of the box, vrancic and reed are deep, Watkins - well I don’t know where he is, but it’s not the box).
Basically, this system is rubbish, or we don’t have the players to make it work. I think it’s the former, but even if it is the latter, is there any point persisting with it at the moment if there is no realistic possibility of making signings in January?
