Bit of both i suspect. I can't recall who it was I was speaking to but it was
someone with a kid in the academy system who said that at the younger ages Ipswich were sweeping up most of the better youngsters other than obviously those who are very wedded to one or the other club. Perhaps this is because we have been more focussed on getting in players from further afield or perhaps also because its perceived that there is a better chance of breaking through to the senior squad at Ipswich. he did say though that their recruiters are just much more noticeable at local youth level.
Randomly (since i live 130 miles away) one of our neighbours grandsons has just been signed up by the Ipswich academy and plays in goal for their U13s and he told me the other day that they recently beat our U13's 18-0 although he did say that the Norwich team said they were a B team.
