ah, fair enough. easily doable though
think DC to NY is only 5-6hrs allowing for toilet stops etc, and similar for NY to Boston.
Top kid tips:
Boston: Whale watching; USS Constitution; (Salem possibly)
DC: Air & space museum (can't remember if it's free or not?), the war memorials if they are history buffs
NY: Bronx Zoo; Economy Candy (massive sweet shop)
