doesn't look it now of course because we know we got promoted two years later, but we didn't know that at the time. Even if we go down now we've still ensured 1 years Prem money and 2 years parachute money to put the club finances in good order. We needed promotion to do that and the playoff final might have been our only chance for another 9 years or so to do it. So this game isn't as big for the club's future as that one was AT THE TIME as we should be in decent shape as a club whatever happens. On the other habd what you haven't had you don't miss, and having tasted the bright lights of the modern Prem its maybe harder to go back to the Fizzy Pop than we might yhave thought...
