I have a sneaky feeling he might surprise us...
The fact that it happened in Vegas which is very very familiar to him, might make it close enough to home for him to actually concede some strengthening of the laws. Let's not forget that he was in favour of some restrictions before he started on the presidential run and changed his stance after hefty support from the NRA.
I have a feeling that if ever he is actually going to turn around and piss off future business contacts by making a smart decision for America rather than buttering lobbyists up, this might be it.
And if he doesn't, then I cannot imagine him making any rational decisions ever (so basically continuing as he has done so far).
