If we could get a solid defense going then having 70% possession has to give us an edge.

To be honest, possession helps the most when you have a lead and can keep the ball.
As we go behind in virtually every game its not as useful.

Also its about quality of possession, us playing it around the back 4 buys us nothing except the chance to make a f**k up.
In the long run it may pay dividend if we can turn that into midfield and final third possession which is what you want.
