A few ( too many) words about a City fan

On Thursday I held my Dad's hand at his hospital bedside for eleven hours.
I'd recently read a nice article about football being the silent bond between father and son.
Dad couldn't speak but he could hear. I had 11 hours with him to recall all our lovely memories from him following the 59 cup run, taking me to Carra Rud for the first time in 1962, the Wembley finals. Jimmy Bone with our first ever goal in the first division. The playoff final. So, so many enjoyable times.
He was 95, he hadn't attended a game for many years but he still loved his footie on Sky. Every time we spoke we'd chat about City. His mind was still sharp but on Thursday his body inevitably gave up.
I've lost my hero and City have lost a big fan. Today, I will pour myself a beer and listen to our team on Radio Dubs, and probably talk to Dad about the game.
Our great club carries on. OTBC.
