You need to invest in a decent saddle and a decent pair of shorts with

an insert which protects your vitals and backside. There's no need to be uncomfortable on a bike but if you buy a cheapish bike it'll have a cheap saddle and it'll be very uncomfortable particularly without a decent pair of shorts with the insert.
