Although it may do some wider good for the sport, particularly given he's the most popular and highest profile rider in the sport right now. Sprinters take too many risks in the final km, and there are too many crashes and too many injuries.

If this - and maybe one or two similar rulings - act to make sprinters ride just a bit more conservatively, and give each other a bit more space, then might be a good thing.

But who knows if that'll actually happen. Viewed in isolation, it was pretty (very!) harsh on Sagan.
