In simple terms, with a worldwide market and development of players, and the money

in the game. Norwich have had an opportunity, often much more than any other club around them, to scope out 6 x £2-3m players a season

Not £2m-£3m on things like Dorrans or Mulumbu, but £2-£3m on worldwide young potential players from Brazil Argentina, Germany, Spain, Belguim etc

2-3 of them could be a bit naff, but if 3 a season turned out good, and were touted up as £10m speculative buys to other clubs the season after, they could either sell and buy the next, or carry on improving

It's as simple as that, but for some reason it's not managed so

It's so cripplingly obvious, and then someone like Naismith turns up instead for 8.5m, or Lafferty for £3m

Why not just invest in potential rather than pricks?
