Ron Greenwood

"At its best, the game is a joy, a battle of wit, muscle and charcater. It involves and inspires, always different, endlessly fascinating. That is what it should be. Sadly and shamefully, the professional game is bein ruined, mutilated by impatiant directors, accountants with acid pens, frightened managers, poor coaches, dull theorists. The spirit is wrong. Football comes from the people and is for the people."

Greenwood was part of a tradition at West Ham that helped in winning the world cup, developed something akin to "total football" many years before anyone in Holland even thought of it, and tangentially made Norwich what we became in the 80s and 90s, through the vast influence of John Bond, Martin Peters and Ken Brown.

It is this legacy that those f**king cretins (cough splutter) who currently run our club simply do not understand, do not even begin to understand, have never even glimpsed. It is this that makes me want to scream when I see and hear Worthless and all he stands for, pragmatic, unimaginative, utterly opposed to everything that has mattered to this club for decades, draining our enthusiasm for the game and our club.

It is this incomprehension that makes me depressed.
