I actually agree with some of that *runs for cover*...

..I was having this conversation the other night. Yes the new signings were fantastic, but I think they would have played EVEN better if they had a little of the derby passion flowing through their veins! Flem, Greeno, Squiz & Hendo are well aware of the importance of these matches, it means as much to them as is does the crowd, but to the others it must just be 3 points. That isn't a criticism at all, it's a fact.

The effect adrenaline has when pumping round the body is well documented, if you are playing 'just another match' you're not going to have exceptionally high levels of it. The Ipswich side, however, (and as Waghorn says) have been fed the importance of derby matches since they were in nappies (& I believe some of them still aren't quite weaned or potty trained), so it was like playing a side on ecstasy!

Experience counts for a lot, but real passion can count for a lot more, imho.. oh my gosh, I'm waffling, sorry about that.. over & out..
