I don't really understand that
Yes there is a huge amount of promotion of gambling on TV, at football grounds and within football sponsorship generally.
But where is the hypocrisy? The FA aren't saying gambling is intrinsically wrong, they're saying professional football players can't bet on professional football. I don't see the problem with that.
Whether you morally agree with gambling (or the promotion thereof) or not is a separate issue.
