Both are my John Peel if that's possible. Both educated me towards the bands I liked
as well as people like Simon Armitage, John Hegley, Frank Sidebottom, Will Self, Stuart McConie,
The evening session on radio 1 was ok but didn't feel like it connected with me. It seemed to be a trendy magazine type programme. Marc and Lard would just be naturally funny play decent tunes
What I like to this day is Marc and Riley (lard) still have an army of witty emailers who probably harbour at least 50% of the comedy side of their material
Channel 4 should have stuck with The White Room as well. It would have rivalled and probably bettered Jools Holland over time
