I see your point, but I don't understand why it matters?
Football clubs are part of the local community, but only because it draws the community together to support that club.
Not because our local Norwich boys are now playing for the first team. So why does it matter then, whether the players come from Brighton, Germany, China or the moon?
I think there's something to be said for owners that understand what the supporters want and that possibly requires an understanding of the local area, but it doesn't really require the owners to be locals.
