(Although selling Wes is obviously a cardinal sin worthy of immediate sacking) but I suspect they baulked at him announcing he wanted to ship out loads of players probably including some he's wasted millions on.
There will be enough natural culling of the squad with the players out of contract to give any new manager plenty of room for manoeuvre. I think we are in a really strong position.
