is when the waves of discontent start lapping round their feet and they think the heat on them will increase.

Which makes sense in a way, but why it didn't dawn on them to do it after the Bristol game is beyond me. Letting him do a press conference and giving Irvine 22 hours to prepare for the game is odd in the extreme.
