Following Yesterday's *Shock* Hucks Revelations...

Following their relegation from the English Premier Division, Norwich City manager Nigel Worthington has started to rebuild his squad with the signing of two players who have been released by their clubs.

James Scowcroft, 27, and Gareth Taylor, 30, were released yesterday by their clubs, Leicester City and Nottingham Forest respectively, and Worthington, recently back from holiday, was quick to snap the duo up on three and four year contracts.

?I don?t think anyone knew these lads were available? said Worthington yesterday evening, ?so we stepped in quickly before word got around. They are both pacy players, big and strong, and with an eye for goal. I?m looking forward to seeing how they combine up front for us next season?

Scowcroft admitted that the move had come as a surprise, ?I was ready to head off to Cyprus on holiday when the call came in saying Norwich wanted me?it?s a good chance to put myself back in the shop window, and I?m looking forward to teaming up with Gareth, who?s a quality player?.

Worthington is reported to be concluding his summer shopping spree with a move for out of contract ex-Manchester United defender Lee Roche today, as well as offering a new contract to midfielder Gary Holt, who had been interesting Motherwell.
