I had an open mind on Trump when he got elected

I thought he will either be horrendous or he will surprise people and actually achieve more than expected.

I have to say that early signs are not great. I assumed that Congress would be able to act as more of a check on him but with all these executive orders he seems to be determined to pile in and run the country rather like a dictatorship/family business.

I was never worried about UK/US trade deal (if indeed we actually want one if it looks like the TTIP) too much. It seemed obvious to me that his appointment would probably be beneficial to the UK in that sense, he's an anglophile with a Scottish mother and interests in this country. What really scares me though is the pro Israel agenda in the middle east and the apparent determination to fall out with China. Both of those things seem to me to have the potential to backfire quite spectacularly and make the world a far less safe place.
