Low down on Mitchell Dijks from two Dutch colleagues at work....
one of whom is an Ajax supporter.
Ajax was his first club as a pro, but Dijks didn't develop as hoped, so Ajax sold him to Willem II Tilburg, another Erevidisie club.
He was sufficiently good there that Ajax bought him back as season and a half ago and last season, he was the regular left back under Frank de Boer.
Ajax have a new Head Coach this season who likes to play midfielders at full back. Dijks is a traditional full back and as a result, isn't getting a game.
They say he's big and strong, not especially quick, but quick enough, and is a genuine left back rather than someone who just plays there.
