Youth policy was discussed in depth at Fans Group Meeting
One thing became very clear, it is an art not a science and a number of external events seem to determine whether youngster gets a chance.
Firstly financial pressure for 1st team to succeed then surprisingly the fitness of senior players able to extend their playing careers and also the failure of most PL, EFL schemes for reserve football.
Youngster between 18 and 21 need to go on loan and Club needs to spend to attract young potential stars.
This sometimes means that those returning from loan spells move up the pecking order in advance of new signings. Guess who?
