To find this I first started with start=15000 but no dice; start = 5000 gave me posts but start=10000 gave me none. So I tried start = 7500 then 8750 (both gave me posts) then 9375 (which didn't - but 9300 did).

Took about 40 seconds total #pens

I'm not entirely sure why your total posts are >15k but the start number is only just over 9k - possibly because two or more posts in the same thread "count as one" or something though that seems a little unlikely. Another explanation may be that posts prior to certain dates have been culled - the count is still there but the posts are not.
