I agree with you both, but from all that we've seen Ep2 should be back on track

I still like the theory that Moriarty had a twin - "it's never twins" comes up too often otherwise (arguably). I thought that twin might be Mary, but apparently she's actually dead. Maybe it's someone else; and I think we're getting Sherrinford at some point as well.

It could all be horribly naff. But last episode and the wedding episode aside, the rest have been almost uniformly excellent.

I did enjoy some aspects of Ep1, notably the screen depiction of what the dog was detecting, and the tracking device thing, but overall I agree it was a bit lacking. Next two are probably the last two for several years at least so they'd better be good...
