When he said in the summer that we were skint.

I suspect that we're not (although obviously not cashed up due to ownership, etc) and it's more a case of the club keeping their cards close in order to make better deals. However putting together the various stories over the last few weeks, it's not a stretch to believe that there might be some truth there.
