They bought the club. It belongs to them not us
Every time there was money to be raised they issued new shares and increased their ownership while letting the fans feel like they were buying into something.
You can't knock them for investing in the club and saving it from financial meltdown but they made sure to feather their own nests at the same time. They're now sitting on a potential massive profit if they ever sell. It was a gamble that paid off for them.
