Well...
I have no problem with biopics making up characters, merging characters or just generally being liberal with the truth in order to represent something or someone within a more coherent narrative structure but turning a real life apparently bisexual person who was not homophobic into a bigoted straight man with a heart of gold who learns to love the LGBT community when his own life is threatened, and to have that community hero worship the straight white hero for saving the 'helpless' gay friends by acquiring the life saving drug they need, while failing to acknowledge the phenomenal effort that the gay community themselves put into the campaign through groups such as ACT UP and TAG is a bit too much rewriting of history for me.
Aside from that though, I did think Jared Leto was good in it but, again, it's almost like trans actors don't exist.
