Are our board deluded? Ever thought that it might all be part of the plan?
Delia doesn't like the premier league and doesn't want to be part of it. She knows that the club cannot compete their really under her ownership. So it might serve her interests and young Tommy's to consolidate the club in the Championship.
Everyone knows that this season is our best chance of going straight back up so what better way to make sure that doesn't happen than by keeping a clearly out of his depth manager in charge for as long as possible? Sure the famously patient CR crowd will turn and he'll have to be sacked eventually but by that stage he will have done his job in f**king up the teams chances of automatic promotion.
To add further benefit to the plans of consolidating the club in the championship. Due to the clubs poor form and league position the better players and higher earners want out and can be sold in the January window. A fraction of what they are sold for is given back to the manager to reinvest in the squad and on players whose wages are a fraction of those who have just departed. The millions made from the player sales go nicely back into the clubs coffers.
