I did not advocate sacking Neil in the summer
Although I would not have been unhappy if we had done. If we we're going to get rid then early enough last season to give a new manager a chance to keep us up would have been the time to do it.
It became very, very clear though early this season that he was not doing a good job and we were not playing anywhere near the level we are capable of. I was very young in the Ken Brown era so don't really recall if the performance levels were as bad. It was also a different era where returning to the top flight was not so paramount financially and we did not have such a financial advantage over most of our rivals so it's very difficult to compare. but if the team were underperforming as badly as they currently are then yes I would have advocated sacking him.
