I saw him in Sheffield
Last week. Thought it was really sad. Back in the day it was the fury, the visceral energy of him that was so funny and compelling. He's still a funny man but a shadow of himself. Fair play to him for cracking on, making jokes about it etc --- but both the wife and I thought that it felt like a farewell. Sad times. I'll remember him as he was 15 years ago, not last Sunday.
