Agents

I am interested because I am both a fan and a shareholder. I ask the questions because prior to the sale of Ashton the club's financial position was so parlous that it could afford neither the transfer fee nor the wages for Carl Robinson. But had paid ?438,000 to agents within the past 6 months.
As far as paying agent's fees when players depart, ludicrous as it may seem Doncaster has confirmed that this is the case. In fact, even more ludicrously, he confirmed that in the period in question fees were paid to agents for players who were not sold, but merely departed on loan (which must have been Jarrett).
I would have thought that anyone interested in why the quality of players brought in is generally so low would be curious as to where the money is going. Earnshaw appears to be a quality player, but he is the first signing since Ashton of whom that could be said.
Look at this way: from July to December 2005 we paid nearly as much to agents as Arsenal received from Blackburn for David Bentley.

Shome mishtake surely?
