What does 'negative' mean?

If the team gets relegated, cannot defend for toffee, has no structure or identity, many of the players are lazing around going through the motions, and the manager hasn't convinced in an awfully long time now, is it 'negative' to point it out?

It's like a cult. "You're not a true fan unless you're denying what others can see and trying desperately to extract 'positives' where none exist".

Jim, like all of us, just wants the best. All fans who want the best express it in different ways.
