The sense of frustration in my opinion comes from the fact that we all know that the sport is corrupt, which is why clubs like us don't have periods at the top any more. But that only reflects society as a whole.

I don't know why Brighton should be a concern. I haven't seen any team that is noticeably any better than any other.

What happened at Newcastle will recur several times? Eh? Something that I've seen happen maybe twice before in watching football for nearly 40 years? I don't think so.

Personally I think the squad/team needs a bit of a refresh in one or two key positions, a kind of "time for new heroes" moment, as they've been together a relatively long time. The Murphys may be doing that and perhaps Maddison and Todd Cantwell in the future, who knows?
