Phone bartering is hard from my last experience
I've never actually tried before, but my insurance was going up £7.50, and it's not actually that great a package, but I was sick of them sneaking up the prices every year when I don't claim
It took over 2 hours listening to how my package was competitive to my cover. By the end of it I was on a combined home insurance of £18 a month. The letter I had in my hand was telling me my direct debits would total £43 a month
2 hours I had to listen to some bloke telling me there's nothing wrong with my policy, and it's one of the cheapest around, until he succumbed and dropped it to £18
He's crap might have worked, but I was ready to ring round and get other quotes, cos I knew the 2 price rises from the last 2 years were disgustingly high and I was being played
