We've made a net spend after having a big drop in income

How is that not ambitious, or even a little bit risky? What's risky and ambitious for us isn't the same as what is risky and ambitious for a team with a billionaire foreign owner to cover big shortfalls. Anyone who won't support us because of that isn't actually a fan at all and should just f*** off and support Chelsea or Man U with the rest of the glory hunters.
