Always amazes me how protective the lefties on here are of Ed Balls
I guess he's one of their own, and the more Blairite they are, the more eagerly they leap to Ed's defence
It's obvious that he was ill advised to be tweeting about Strictly and his book on transfer deadline night, simply because it makes it clear how uninvolved with the club he actually is. Poor diplomacy. So the rush to defend him is just classic tribal loyalty and we shouldn't expect anything else. (Imagine if we'd appointed Osborne as Chairman and he'd done the same thing ... the board would have been engulfed in a North London Froth Tsunami.)
