Just back from the game . . .
and I notice MM thinks they were the better side.
If he thinks that playing with two monsters up front and hoofing the ball to them, hoping for knock-downs is the way to play, then he is a relic of the dark ages. I would not want to watch that stuff every week. Football has moved on.
I am pleased we tried to play football and sometimes we did look good. Not quite the end product, but I would rather we tried to play this way than MM's way.
AN knew Ippos would be hard, in our faces and direct, so played without wide men to shore up midfield, planning to bring on width later in the game and it could have worked but for City falling asleep with 1 min to go in a half in which we looked the better footballing side.
I like Wes and Naismith playing together in midfield, they play some nice stuff together. I wish Howson and Tetty could support them better, and Brady could learn to pass a ball.
Not the end of the world today. Only four games in and we are in the top six.
