Because of the special position we hold in FIFA the other nations Wales NI and especially Scotland are against it fearing that we could be forced into a GB team for other competitions ( world Cup)

2012 was a exception because London being hosts but the Scots even then would have nothing to do with it and team was made up of just english and welsh players

we have sent teams in the past but it was when totally amateur players were picked
