Is completely different
Footballers get their tests at home or at the ground. Cyclist spend most of their time travelling. The testers follow them everywhere they go (and test WAY more than in football) - test them in hotels around the world, wherever they happen to be. System is so complicated that it's inevitable they miss some(because there are so many, often in the middle of the night). If they weren't allowed to miss a couple, there'd be no cyclists left.
Cycling is *so* far ahead of football (in terms of drug testing) they're not even comparable. Blood passports in football? Yeah right.
All that said, the Armitstead case does raise some questions - not least about why British cycling kept it so quiet. Odd.
