I think he's a good player and I'd like him to come here. Trying to take my yellow-and-green-tinted super-bwod-specs off for a minute, I think it's quite hard to argue that Villa have a better chance than us of going up this season, though they're undeniably the bigger club. We're certainly not dead certs for promotion but we're in a better place than they are, and that's before noting that they've lost more of their better players than we have so far this window.

McC is not getting any younger and if he wants a shot at the Prem, I'd say we were his better choice and that's got to be worth something. All our players had a regulation clause in their contracts (I think) so presumably there's a promulgation clause too. I'm fairly sure us in the Prem would pay more than Villa in the Champs, for example.

I'd really like him here, but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen and there are other strikers out there.
