Saw ref there to the NHS

I was talking to a senior nurse yesterday (who voted to remain) and she told me that as result of being in the EU, the NHS effectively has to recruit from EU countries (eg they've just recruited about 20,000 from Spain) - she said that many then spend 3 years here, that it takes them about 18 months to learn English, and then they leave and go home. She compared that with recruits from outside the EU (many from commonwealth countries) where they find that the rate of departure is much lower (and they can speak English when they arrive) - so that overall her view was that Brexit would simply mean one set of immigrants being replaced by another set (possibly slightly preferable in professional terms)
