on immigration - which is clearly the most important issue to him. He is almost certainly racist, but staying in the EU would most probably require the UK to accept a larger number of asylum seekers and refugees from the Middle East and North Africa, than being outside it.

Voting for the UK to leave the EU, particulaly under the leadership of right wingers most probably will reduce muslim immigration into the UK. So, if that is an issue really important to him, then he is correct to vote to leave.

However racist his views are (and it seems from that interview that they are pretty racist), the most depressing and worrying thing is that it's not through ignorance that people have voted that way.
